Hanging Mail Organizer  

A great accessory for every home is a hanging mail organizer that can have a few sections for organizing different types of mail, or just be one single basket for holding a few envelopes or other items.  Although the style is often called a mail organizer, the design is useful for a variety of different items and with the wall hanging capabilities it’s excellent for de-cluttering tables, desks, or other surfaces in your home or office.

Since a number of the mail sorters have hooks at the bottom for keys or other small items, these are a very suitable hanging to have just inside the door.  Your keys can hang in a convenient location and your mail can be simply set in the basket or slot to be checked out at the most appropriate time.  Other great uses for an organizer right inside the door, is that it’s an easy place to put sunglasses, hang a dog leash, place your wallet, hang an umbrella or store any other things that you want for when you leave the house.  

The 2 and 3 tier hanging organizers are good for the entryway as well but are especially handy to have near a desk or other table top used for writing phone messages, writing letters and paying bills.  With 3 different sections you can have one for your bills, one for the brochures or flyers you like to have handy and one for letter writing materials like paper, envelopes, stamps and pens.  It seems the most common material used for this kind of design is metal wire, which is pretty good for being able to hold papers and envelopes appropriately yet still be able to see what is there.  You would want the saying “Out of sight, out of mind” to refer to your bills or other important mail.

Even though a hanging mail organizer was produced for a certain function, there are a few other good uses for this style.  When you want an easy to access area to conveniently place a few smaller type things, think of the functional sectioning and other features in a mail organizer to assess the possibility of hanging up one of them to suit your needs.
